Market Share Coming to Scioto Downs and Ohio for the First Time

The $200,000 Charlie Hill Memorial Race is bringing record-breaking millionaire horses to Scioto
Columbus, OH – Thursday, June 5, 2014 – Scioto Downs Racino is set to host the $200,000 Charlie Hill
Memorial Trot as part of the Grand Circuit this Saturday. This inaugural race, slated as race 10 on the 14
race card, has lured world-renowned horses to Ohio, some for the first time.
Market Share, one of the likely favorites, just broke a world record on May 25th for the fastest mile on a
5/8 mile track and has earned over $3.2 million in purses. Having raced in Ontario, Canada and six U.S.
states, this is Market Share’s first appearance in Ohio. Other likely favorites in this race include Arch
Madness and Modern Family which combined total purse winnings are just shy of $4.6 million.
The 10 year old, Arch Madness, will be driven by Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. a frequent Scioto Downs driver.
Arch Madness has won 34 out of the last 111 races including the 2007 Breeders Crown and the 2011 Oslo
Grand Prix. Ronnie Wrenn Jr. currently holds 2nd place in the nation for most wins this season at 280
Dave Palone, a Harness Racing Hall of Famer, will drive Modern Family. Palone currently stands as the
country’s winningest driver with 16,420 race victories, 645 of those wins in 2013. Currently he holds 5th
place for most wins this season with 252 victories. Other drivers of note include Aaron Merriman, ranked
1st place in the country with 316 total victories and Josh Sutton, ranked 3rd place in the country with 273
total victories. Merriman is set to drive the number 7 horse, Fusion Man and Sutton to drive the number
10 horse, DW’s NY Yank.

This high level of competition also includes another Harness Racing Hall of Famer, Mike Lachance who
has a career win of $190 million in purses and 10,394 victories. Lachance is set to drive the number 3
First post is at 6:30pm this Saturday at Scioto Downs Racino with 14 total races on the card. Scioto
Downs will also simulcast the Belmont Stakes race, post time 6:52pm.
